The beautiful and sex-starved Emmanuelle Prevert just can't
inflame her husband's ardour. In frustration she seduces a
string of VIPs, including the Prime Minister and the American
Ambassador but a jealous lover gives a list of all her conquests
to the national press and a scandal ensues...
Frankly, who could care? This is by far the worst of the Carry
On films - far worse than Carry On Columbus - and
is best avoided. The cheeky humour that made the series such
a success has been replaced by cheap smut and a series of
hammy performances that wouldn't have been out of place in
the Confessions series of movies. You have to feel
sympathy for Kenneth Williams and the last remnants of the
old team as they mug and stumble through this quite dreadful
slice of British cinema.
However,
there may just be a reason for buying the disc - a documentary.
Okay, so it was made for TV and comes complete with ad bumpers
[which is quite unforgivable] but it's actually very good
and tells the tales of how the films were made. But this is
still nowhere near an essential purchase...
