Mike is planning a surprise wedding anniversary party for
Carol - until Carol's long-lost first husband, Roy, shows
up to shake the family tree. But all is not as it seems and
it's not soon before Carol and Roy are on the way to Hawaii
with the rest of the Bradys in pursuit. Can Mike win back
his wife? Or will the Brady Bunch be separated for good?...
A
Very Brady Sequel
manages to improve on the first movie - just. The Brady family
seem to gel better in this follow up, the story seems polished
and overall things just seem a lot more comfortable.
Tim
Matheson is suitably sleazy enough as Carol's apparently long-lost
husband. Although, and I doubt this will spoil anything for
those who have not seen the movie, it is blindingly obvious
from the moment he arrives at the Brady household that he
isn't totally on the level.
There
is a fantastically funny subplot which sees Jan desperate
to have a boyfriend, or at the very least appear to have one.
The creation of her imaginary admirer, George Glass, provides
many chuckles throughout the movie - especially when she turns
up at a bar with George, who is a dummy that is coming unstitched.
Yes, I know it sounds stupid, but it is rather amusing - Or
maybe I just ate some of Roy's mushroom.
The
opening sequence gives a nod to the opening of Raiders
of the Lost Ark, which is a nice touch. In fact, for the
first five minutes I was concerned that I was watching the
wrong movie.
As
with the first movie's release on DVD, the biggest complaint
is that there are no extras at all on this release.
An
entertaining family movie that will keep the old and young
family members entertained.
