Kenneth Williams is W.C. Boggs, the troubled owner of a small
company trying to manufacture fine toiletware. Incompetent
management and a bolshy union are just about the least of
Bogg's problems as you'll soon discover in this hysterical
comedy that tells you everything you always wanted to know
about your home's most vital convenience...
Carry
On At Your Convenience was
the first of the Carry
On movies
to fail to recoup its money back from UK cinema sales. While
it eventually made money when it moved into International
waters, it was a disappointment nevertheless.
One
of the reasons that has always been given for its failure
at the UK box office was its right wing story line. With a
union rep who is a pain in the arse and will do anything to
go on strike it didn't really attract many fans - especially
when you consider that strikes were common place during this
period.
The
movies conclusion sees the bosses winning and the union rep
made to look foolish - now you see why the general public
stayed away in droves.
Extras
include an interesting audio commentary with Richard O'Callaghan
and Jacki Piper; Photo gallery with captions; Theatrical trailer;
Carry On Laughing: The Case of the Screaming Wrinkles;
and film trivia notes.
Despite
its faults, this is still an enjoyable movie which also sees
the Carry On team on location as the they head to Brighton
for the summer company outing.
