Celebrate Christmas with Rudolph and his friends in this magical
adventure, complete with songs and full orchestral backing.
Join Sam the Snowman as he tells us the enchanting story of
Rudloph's magical adventures on the Island of the Misfit Toys.
Will he return in time to help Santa guide his sleigh through
the snowstorm?...
This
classic Rankin Bass animated feature from the 1960's has aged
extremely well. The tale of how Rudolph was born a misfit,
and finally fate led him to save the day is wonderfully brought
to life. This feature also has some great humour. Santa is
a miserable skinny chap, the elves are overworked and underpaid;
and the inhabitants of Misfit Toy Island are very strange.
Extras
on the DVD include an interview with Arthur Rankin - which
throws up a couple of interesting bits of information - including
the fact that Rankin lived next door to the man who wrote
the classic song that this feature was based on; "Fame
and Fortune" song which replaced the "Misfits"
song after the first transmission; and the Original TV promo.
At
almost an hour in length, this feature should keep most children
entertained - putting a little magic back into Christmas
