Grab the remote and be at one with the couch for all 22 episodes of season four of
The Simpsons. There are many classic Simpsons moments and this season includes one of the most favourite episodes from the show's history as voted by the fans. In Homer the Heretic we see Homer renounce the church to set up his own religion, worshipping the waffle iron and the TV, blissfully happy in just his underpants!...

Season four of The Simpsons is, not surprisingly, another winner. Four discs for £40 is extremely good value for money. Although, I still can't understand why Homer the Heretic was voted the best episode ever - especially when there are much better episodes in this season - Mr Plow or Marge Vs the Monorail, for example.

To be honest, I was going to list my favourite episodes, but I might as well just list the entire contents of this collection - there isn't a really bad episode here. Even the clips show is packed full of original material and the clips are worth rewatching - unlike on other shows.

Extras include a special Introduction by creator Matt Groening; audio commentary for each episode with Groening and executive producers Al Jean and Mike Reiss, joined by writers, actors and directors; Bush vs. Simpson featurette narrated by executive producer James L. Brooks; The Cajun Controversy featurette; multi-angle animation showcase on selected episodes; illustrated commentaries; deleted scenes; special language feature; commercials and behind-the-scenes promotional material.

The main problem I had, which seems to be a sticking point with all of The Simpsons DVDs released so far, is that it would be really great just to be able to play the episodes without having to watch menu after menu featuring repetitive animation. And, as Fox are now doing with all of their DVDs, it is really frustrating having to sit thought the "Warning" copyright notice at the start of each and every episode.
