When teenager Maddy finds her dad needs an operation and they
can't afford the $250,000 hospital fee, she decides, with
the help of her two best friends, to rob the bank in which
her mother is the chief security planning officer...
Mission
Without Permission is
the UK title for the movie that was called Catch That Kid
on its US release. Catch That Kid was never really
the greatest of titles in the first place - mainly as there
are three of the little blighters.
The
kids are each specialists in their own fields - a rock climber,
a mechanical whiz and a computer genius. Together, they concoct
a foolproof and ingenious plan to rob one of the world's most
impenetrable banks, which has a state-of-the-art security
system, patrolling guards with dogs and a vault suspended
100 feet from the ground.
This
movie is an excellent 'feel good' comedy that will certainly
appeal to kids of between 10 and 14 years of age. All the
actors are well cast, especially Kirsten
Stewart as Maddy.
The
producers also make good use of the special visual effects
and stunts. I particularly enjoyed the go-cart chase and the
ingenious way in which they resolve the problem of reaching
the safe which is suspended 100 feet above the ground.
The
only extras are a few deleted scenes and an audio commentary.
This is well worth watching - and adults should find this
to be very bearable.
