Watch the loveable, optimistic sea sponge, known as SpongeBob,
and friends in a host of episodes that follow their underwater
escapades. This
collection kicks off with the double-length episode House
Party
in which SpongeBob throws his own party only to lock himself
out. In I
Had an Accident
a careless fall makes SpongeBob vow never to leave the house
again. In Just one bite, SpongeBob, desperately attempts to
get his miserable co-worker, Squidward, to taste the delicacy
of 'Krabby Patty'! Later it is this Krabby patty that lands
the money grabbing Mr. Krabs in hospital and bargaining for
his soul in the episode Born
Again Krabs...
Other
episodes in Tales From the Deep include: Hall Monitor
in which it is SpongeBob's turn to be hall monitor at Mrs
Puff's Boating school... much to her dismay; Valentine's
Day - Patrick is not impressed with SpongeBob's gift of
a 'handshake'; Mermaidman and Barnacleboy are TV heroes
and SpongeBob and Patrick want them to come out of retirement
and fight crime. Saying no could be their toughest challenge
yet; Tea at the Treedome - Unfortunately tea at Sandy's
home is not as straightforward as SpongeBob hoped since it
is filled with air... not good for a sponge; The Paper
- a worthless wrapper could prove to be a gold mine of entertainment.
As
with modern cartoons, SpongeBob is just as entertaining
for adults as it is for kids - although on a different level.
Most of us (or maybe just me) will be able to identify with
SpongeBob's miserable neighbour, Squidwad. Could you really
live next door to such a cheery soul as SpongeBob without
getting annoyed at every little thing he does?
The
press release for this DVD stated that there were also some
extras on this collection (the Underwater Sun music
video, drawing the Goo Lagoon and the storyboard for SpongeBob's
House Party). However if they are on the DVD I couldn't
find them and they aren't mentioned on the back of the DVD
sleeve.
But,
who cares whether there are any extras? Nine episodes (one
a double length one too) of SpongeBob Squarepants is
surely worth £13 of anyone's money.
