Set on the Western Front in 1917, Captain Edmund Blackadder
originally joined the British Army when it was little more
than a travel agency. Now he is in the front line fighting
for king and country. Surrounded by a bunch of half-wits.
The only thing he wants to do is go home...
Blackadder
goes forth is the final series in the installment (if you
don't include the Back and Forth Millennium Dome episode).
It's conclusion is sad and thought provoking. Miranda Richardson,
Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson pop up in brilliant cameo
roles in what is arguable the funniest series.
But
unfortunately, yet again the BBC has decided to release this
DVD with out a single extra. It is not worth parting with
your VHS copy just yet until the BBC release a disc with extras
(a commentary would have been useful).
A
rather disappointing release 10/10 for the series but 5/10
for this release.
