Some evil jewel has transformed all of Wario's treasure
into monsters, and now he's got to go to this weird world
and beat it out of 'em! There are plenty of goons waiting
for a shot at old Wario, but don't worry about him, he's ready
to brawl! He'll be throwing punches, charging through crowds,
and piledriving ugly mugs right and left. What you've got
to worry about is keeping him alive. Can you handle that?...
At
last, Wario has got his very own GameCube game. Warioworld
is an offbeat beat-'em-up platform game. Obviously, as he
has no morals, Wario isn't out to save the world or anything
heroic like that. What he does set out to do is defeat the
evil black jewel that has turned all his treasure into monsters.
So how does he defeat this foe? Simple, by working his way
through a whole collection of weird and wacky levels - beating
the life out of any monsters that get in his way.
This
is first and foremost a scrolling beat-'em up game, although
Mario fans will notice more than a few familiar platform elements.
Take for example the dungeon areas that are similar to some
of the levels in Super Mario Sunshine.
If
you are looking for anything other than a shallow, pretty
looking game, then you are going to be disappointed. But,
if you are after some mindless fun, then you'll love it.
You've
seen it all before and there are very few surprises here.
Run around, beat up monsters, collect treasure and face a
boss at the end of each level. While not original, it is certainly
very entertaining.
