NBA fans will be pleased to hear that this new game brings
the supercharged headlights of NBA play to life with over
the top, arcade-style 3-on-3. Spectacular high-flying dunks,
ankle-breaking crossovers and "get that outta here" blocks!

NBA
Jam makes
an
impressive comeback after a nine-year absence. Supercharged
and jam packed with blocks, dunks and tricks. You
can play in several modes. These include exhibition (play
a quick game against the computer or human player); Jam tournament
(play ongoing games against the rest of the teams in the NBA);
and Legendary tournament (play through various eras with soundtracks,
commentary and venue to accompany the time period).
But
before you get started you're advised to choose your character
and customise him so that he looks like you. You can even
have your name plastered over your players back. It is this
attention to detail that sets this game above other sports
games. There's something a lot more enjoyable about playing
a game when the character looks a lot like you. You can also
purchase skills and attributes in the Jam store, but you are
going to need to play a few games before you have enough cash
to do that.
The
new game includes all the familiar JAM features of the six
million-selling basketball blockbuster with over-the-top gameplay
and spectacular dunks. "On-fire" and "Big Head"
modes are in, as are "no fouls", "Hot Spots"
and a number of hidden characters too. All
29 NBA teams including players and arenas are included, with
700 new moves including signature dunks for both current and
old-time NBA stars.
Okay,
so if you are not a basketball fan then this is hardly likely
to appeal to you - and outside of North America the sales
are not likely to be overly high - which is a damn shame.
There is so much care and attention to detail in this game
that we've found it hard not to love it. Even some of our
staff who hate basketball have been having a ball playing
this.
