The evil Tlaloc has stolen the moonstones, diminishing the
powers of the Moon Juju goddess. It falls to Tak to right
this wrong. He's got nothing but his wits and his, um...chicken
suit...
Tak
and the Power of Juju actually
works better as a GBA game that it does on the PS2. While
the PS2 version has some fantastically funny animation, the
GBA version is more addictive and it is not as easy to get
lost in the gaming areas.
Some
of the elements of the PS2 version seem a little redundant
here though. While it is great fun to jump on the rhino's
back and ride around the environment on the PS2, in this version
the beasts' inclusion seems to be a little pointless. But
there are plenty of other elements that make this an instant
hit:
Whack
bees nests to ensure that any rogue creatures in your way
are dispatched quickly; pick up exploding flowers and throw
them at walls - which then collapse; and leap from vine to
vine an pretend that you are Tarzan (I even wore a loin cloth
and screamed at the top of my lungs ever time I swung through
the trees - although that's not essential!)
Tak
and the Power of Juju is a great little game which will
keep you occupied for quite some time. The only complaint
I had was that once you loose all you lives it is sometimes
a real trek to start from the beginning of the level.
If
you are looking for a good, solid platform game to play on
the move, you could do a lot worse than this.
