As rookie pilot Benjamin, you must prove your mettle against
kings of the skies, and choose your destiny. Earn medals and
ranks as you fight for your country during World War I
under the service of your commanders. Seek fortune and glory
as you take on side quests. The choice is up to you! The sky's
the limit as you blaze a path to glory on Wings of War...
                  Wings
of War sees you take to the sky in a variety of World
War I aircraft. Shoot down your enemy and undertake bombing
raids to destroy trains, factories and air balloons. Protect
your bombers and clear a path through hostile territory for
surveillance planes to pass through safely. You
can also split off from the main game and engage the enemy
                    in bonus missions.
                  The
main problem I had with this game was that it was too repetitive.
When you've destroyed one train, you've destroyed them all.
And to have to keep doing this level after level becomes boring
after a while. There is also no real difference between the
levels - all of them have you doing pretty much the same missions.
                    Not
only that, but the between game movies are really poor - worse
than anything you'd expect to see on the PSOne.
                  Having
said that, there was something about this game that I really
became hooked on. It could be that there is a lack of games
on the market that allow you to fly biplanes, but, whatever
it was, it had me hooked for ages.
                  If
flying a World War I biplane is your idea of fun then
Wings of War could be the game for you. Sadly though,
anyone who likes a little diversity should steer well clear
                    - this game is too repetitive.
