Bust blocks, groove through puzzles, and jam wirelessly with
friends. Stack 'em right and you'll unlock lush looks and
buttery beats. Want to be lumines? Just let the music guide
you. Advance through 24 action-packed levels, each with its
own musical theme and sound effects...
Lumines
has four gameplay modes, including single-player and multiplayer.
There are also time attacks, duels, and puzzle challenges
and you can unlock new customisable skins and avatars as you
progress. Challenge yourself, or go head to head with an opponent
via wireless multiplayer functionality. Listen as the jam
intensifies depending on your skills. Stack 'em and crack
'em to unlock the best beats and score high points.
So
how do you play Lumines? It's relatively simple. The
screen is divided up into sections by a grid. Squares, consisting
of four blocks, fall from the top of the screen. These squares
are made up of one or two colours, or a mixture and it is
your job to line up four (or more) mini squares of the same
colour so that they will disappear. Once
you have formed a section that can be cleared, the computer
highlights it. This segment will be automatically cleared
once the moving line, which constantly travels across the
screen, hits it.
But
there are so many variations, that you'll be playing this
for ages. This
is one of those games that everyone can enjoy. Young or old,
male or female, simple or genius, this is a game that you'll
still be playing for years to come.
It's
certainly the best of the PSP's launch games and will hopefully
do for the PSP what Tetris did for the Gameboy.
