Alien is the first chapter in one of the most legendary
and terrifying sagas in science fiction history. The nightmare
begins when the crew of a spaceship investigate a transmission
from a desolate planet, and discover a life form that is perfectly
evolved to annihilate mankind. Sigourney Weaver stars as the
iron-willed Ripley, who is destined to do battle with the
                    galaxy's ultimate creature...
                  Alien
                    is
still one of the must own movies that everyone should have
in their collection. While it may be painfully slow in places,
it's still one of the best films in the sci-fi genre. While
many prefer the sequel, Aliens, this first movie was
more suspenseful - due to the fact we didn't see the full
alien creature until the closing scenes.
                  This
movie really launched Sigourney Weaver's career and John Hurt's
alien chest burster scene has to be about one of the most
memorable, and copied, scenes in cinematic history.
                  If
you haven't already got this movie, this is the perfect excuse
to buy it - so you can watch it on the move. If you've already
got it on DVD, you'll no doubt relish the thought of being
able to pick this up and watch anywhere.
