The journey begins when Princess Mycella summons Musashi across
space and time to save her people from danger. As a stranger
in a new world, Musashi finds intrigue and adventure as he
hones his battle skills to defeat a sinister nemesis. All-new
battle systems contribute to non-stop action. Musashi can
focus his energy to learn his opponents' techniques, allowing
him to give enemies a taste of their own medicine. And this
time Musashi can not only pick up allies and enemies but also
wield them in combat to devastating effect...
                  Musashi:
                    Samurai Legend is
                    an interesting game. You
play Musashi, a slightly odd character with a bizarre hair
style, who is on a quest to rid the world of mechanical monsters...
                    or something like that.
                  Before
you start proper, you are put through your paces by your trainer,
Mew, who shows you how to use the basic controls. Then it's
off on your first quest - to rescue the princess of the mystics.
But, before you get to her you will have to slay a number
                    of droids and killer robots.
                  While
the game looks great, there is a slight issue with the repetitive
gameplay. Although, the designers have tried to add a little
variety by having our hero engage in some short vehicle levels
                    - including a bike and futuristic hover vehicle. Also you
can learn your enemies moves, and then copy them as part of
your fighting technique - which is pretty interesting.
                  Then,
there are the Boss sections of each level. To be honest, I
thought this was the weakest aspect of the game. The main
reason for this is that the camera angles used are pretty
poor - meaning that occasionally you can't even see your character,
                    which means almost instant defeat.
                  All
in all, this is a game that is a gnat's breath away from being
a damn good game. The animation is fluid and interesting and
the music is pretty impressive too. It's just a shame that
a little more time wasn't invested in making the gameplay
                    more solid.
