Spongebob wants to give his friend Patrick Star autographs
from their favourite superheroes. Mermaid Man and Barnacle
Bog. But first, Spongebob must succeed at some increasingly
zang challenges. See if Spongebob can fulfill the superheroes'
requests to win their autographs...
Strange
name, strange game if the blurb on the back of the box is
to be believed. Frankly it sounds like the ramblings of a
mad man and how this idea ever got past the 'drunken idea
down the pub' stage is beyond me. It is just a platform game
with crappy characters that only a five year old would find
amusing.
The
graphics are impressive, but there is nothing fancy in the
gameplay and to be quite honest Spongebob was so annoying
that after 10 minutes of play I would have preferred to wash
a tramps nether regions rather than spend another second making
him leap around the screen.
I
think it is the Official Playstation Magazine that
has a section where readers send in really crappy game ideas
and then the designers on the magazine create a mockup cover
for the most stupid game. Sadly, Spongebob Sqaurepants sounds
just like one such game.
I
am aware this is based on a kids cartoon, but sadly I have
not seen an episode - whether that would sway my judgment
is debatable. In
a word this is dull.
