Screen is one of the most interesting independent labels around.
Its thoughtful packaging of old TV and film scores sets an
example for others to follow and once again the company has
pulled it off with this quite superb CD of music from Thunderbirds.
Anyone who has even seen the show will know just how good
Barry Gray's score was. But to hear it back, clean and clear,
uncluttered by sound effects and dialogue is a revelation.
Add an informative and well-written booklet and you have a
package that really does its subject justice.
After
waiting for more years that I can count - but it's almost
40 - I'm finally rewarded with the album I've always wanted.
So was it worth the wait. Yes, this is a quite magnificent
production, and better still, Silva screen is also planning
similar releases for Captain Scarlet, Stingray and
UFO.
Go
buy this CD. There really is nothing better in its class.
